For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1928 White-dot Sheaffer Jade Flat Top Fountain Pen. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new silicone sac to help preserve the color. Hand polished the Gold Filled Sheaffer Clip, Cap Banding, and 14K Gold Lifetime NIB. I also cleaned, buffed, polished, and waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen. The color of this Jade is with gorgeous, vibrant color.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Sheaffer Gold Filled Clip that displays just a hint of wear at the very top of the clip edge and on the high point of the ball on the clip. The Cap Banding is in perfect condition with no wear of the gold-filled material. The Gold Filled Lever is in perfect condition with no wear of the gold-filled material. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO. PAT. AUG 25,08. FORT MADISON, IOWA U.S.A. DEC.10,12-JAN.27-OCT.20-NOV.24,14". Collector Alert: This pen is in remarkable condition with the Jade color displaying so vibrantly. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Jade Flat Top Fountain Pen is a standard size and measures 5 3/8 in length capped and 6 3/4" posted.

I have tested the lever filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system is working as it should.

This Sheaffer Flat Top has a 14K Lifetime Nib. The actual iridium tip on this Sheaffer Nib has a medium point measuring roughly .69mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to medium broad line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .46mm and medium stroke measuring .63mm with medium to firm pressure when I measured with digital calipers. The nib is rigid and writes very smoothly - an absolute pleasure to write with. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was performed by dipping the Nib in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

This is a gorgeous circa 1928 Sheaffer Flat Top Fountain Pen in the Jade Celluloid that would grade in excellent condition, it is just a gorgeous example by Sheaffer. Certainly, this writing instrument is collector grade and is in ready to write with or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
